2,000 Years Old Olive Tree

Kolymvari     more than a year ago
You can find it after only a 15-minute drive from Chania. The olive tree that is considered to be at least 20 centuries old still produces olives. Growing in the village of Ano Vouves in the municipal unit of Kolymvari, the tree was declared a protected natural monument two decades ago. Gold medal winners from the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics wore branches of that tree.
