Chinese Northern Foods Rivonia

Regular visitors to the Cyrildene Chinatown on Derrick Avenue will no doubt recognise the distinctive emerald green signage on this long-running Chinese restaurant. This second location among the glut of Chinese restaurants and shops clustered around Rivonia Boulevard's strip malls is larger than its Cyrildene sibling, although the menu and atmosphere are mostly the same. As with most of the Chinese restaurants around here dishes are designed for sharing and there is a choice of large tables with lazy susans for enjoying a big meal in the Chinese style. Spicy and braised tofu, hot pots, won ton soups, heaps of garlic and exotically described dishes like 'little sheep with oil' are all on the menu. Regulars rate the choice of dumplings, again another great dish for sharing. The fans say don’t go for the décor, this is a place to focus on your food.
