The Cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with 800 yeas long history. It is the first gothic cathedral built with bricks in Scandinavia, constructed in the 12th and 13th century. Roskilde Cathedral is the final resting place of a great number of Danish kings and queens, since the 15th century. It dominated the central square of the beautiful town Roskilde, west of Copenhagen.

During the summer months, the opening hours are somewhat longer.
