Nyhavn
Copenhagen has a very colorful waterfront called Nyhavn. It is a line of thin but tall buildings in different colors, detached to one another, making it look like something from a dream, or a halucination. Nyhavn located on its namesake canal, which is a harbor to a number of historical wooden ships in the heart of Copenhagen. At the very end of the canal is a huge memorial anchor. Many of the buildings' ground floors were transformed into small bars and cafes with marvelous view, and an occasional souvenir shop.The King's Garden
In front of the mesmerizing Rosenborg Castle, in the very heart of Copenhagen, lies Kongens Have, the King's Garden. This enormous park of 12 hectares is the most visited park in the city, by both locals and the tourists, all searching for a place to rest. Whether you like the sun of the shades, enjoying the grass or flowers, or just feeding the ducks in a small lake around the caste, the place epitomizes the true hygge of the Danes.The Little Mermaid
Erected in 1913 to honour the world renowned Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen, the Mermaid shortly became one of the most important sights and the icon of Copenhagen, and for a good reason. The love story about the Little Mermaid is well known, if nothing, through Disney animated film, even though the ending was modified to suit the viewers, kids. The protagonist and the statue both suffered greatly, the mermaid turned into sea foam, while the statue had been vandalized numerous times in various ways, luckily the talented Danish artists managed to repair it each time.The Chistiansborg Tower
The tallest building in the city is definitely the Christiansborg Tower. Due to this, from the platform at its top, you can see all of Copenhagen, and snap some cool instagram photos. The entrance to the tower is free, but there is a security check, and you might have to queue for a few minutes, and fear not, you don't have to walk all the way up, there is a spacious elevator for the visitors. At the top of the tower, there is also a nice restaurant, with an equally amazing view.Botanical Garden
Is there a better place for a stroll and enjoying the nature than a Botanical Garden with all the local and imported plants it features? We don't think so. Same goes for Copenhagen's Botanical Garden, a large green surface right next to Rosenborg Castle and the King's Garden. Additionally to the outdoors, there are very big and very old glasshouses with some great exotic plants worth checking out.Freetown Christiania
Wouldn't it be awesome to go to a place where cannabis is freely sold? Well, that place exists and it's called Freetown Christania, located in Christianshavn, Copenhagen. Originally, the site was military owned, and consists of military barracks. Now it is a home to many workshops, artists, yoga practitioners and the like. With a lot of well-done graffiti, artists displaying their work and curious tourists, it really stands out from the rest of Copenhagen.Gefion Fountain
Filled with energy, the Gefion Fountain, dedicated to pagan Goddess with the same name is one of the must see sights in Copenhagen. As with every toss-a-coin fountain, make sure to bring some coins, and think of some wishes you'd like to come true. The fountain itself is huge, and it shows the Goddess with a plow and four bulls pulling it. The bulls are, of course, Geifon's sons, weird, but that's how myths are.Kastellet
From the sky, it looks like a flower with five petals but this is actually a fortress. At the time when it was built, it was one of the best military constructions. Nowadays, the place serves mainly as a park, mostly to the locals and it's not swarming with tourists. There are several buildings inside of Kastellet, one of them is a big red windmill, which is actually still working, located at the top of one hill.
