Nice For Kids & Families

more than a year ago
Visitors to Nice with kids would not need to look far for places to go that are children friendly. Promenade des Anglais, for instance, has so many toy shops and food shops that kids would enjoy exploring. Also, a few nice beaches are located right in the centre of Nice where kids can swim and enjoy the water and sand. Family travellers can also take advantage of the gardens and parks that are located very close to the heart of Nice.

Places for Kids & Families are:

Jardin Albert I

Right in the city centre lies Jardin Albert 1er, running from Place Massena all the way to Vieux Nice via the Promenade des Anglais. The 1800’s gardens boast of being one of the oldest gardens, open to the public, in Nice. Plants and flowers that are placed at the gardens come from all over the world and come in different colours and species. After recent renovations, better seating, shady areas, clean restrooms, and walkways were created. This park suits visitors with kids as there are play areas with swings, water fountain, and other kids playing activities. Most importantly they areas are fenced and hence deemed safe for families with kids.

Nice Segway Tour

Taking a Nice Segway Tour might be one of the best ways to see Nice. Visitors may choose to take a one or two hour tour passing through popular places such as Promenade des Anglais, Cours Saleya Market, Place Massena, and Castle Hill. The stunning views from the Castle Hill are unbeatable and visitors are also taken through the Old Town to mingle with the locals.

Plage de la Mariniere

Plage de la Mariniere is a small but beautiful beach in Nice perfect for swimming and relaxing on the sand. Cafes nearby have very tasty ice cream as well as sandwiches and snacks. This is a public beach and popular among the locals. There are a few entry points to the beach below. Clearwater is a bonus, as well as the charming town the beach is in.

Promenade des Anglais

Promenade des Anglais is one of the most famous streets in Nice that stretches on the Mediterranean coast. People arriving in Nice take a long relaxing walk on the promenade to get a feel of the culture and beauty of Nice and its people. There are also bicycle and segway lanes on the promenade. The stony beach receives mixed reviews, some people appreciate its close proximity to main core areas and the seats along the beach where people can sit, while others complain about the stones on the beach. Restaurants and Cafes are available on the promenade but shops are not many here.

Villa & Jardins Ephrussi de Rothschild

Located just under 10 km away from Nice, Villa & Jardins Ephrussi de Rothschild is a strikingly colourful villa that was built in the 20th century and surrounded by beautiful gardens that have different themes. Surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, the views and breezy atmosphere pull crowds, in their thousands, to the location. The pond at the front of the main building adds superior beauty and chicness to the overall look of the premises, while the vintage chic furniture and flawless linen designs push the villa forward style-wise. For those who like to stroll and appreciate the greenery and colourful flowers, the gardens at the villa are epic and grand, they deserve a good amount of time and attention.
