Lillehammer combines perfectly the image of a winter-sports location with also being a place for history, culture and art. Its Maihaugen open-air museum displays various pieces of architecture, the oldest of which date back to the 13th century. Other museums around include the Lillehammer Art Museum, the Kittilbu Museum, Postal Museum and Road Museum.
The Norwegian Olympic Museum, on the other hand, hosts various artifacts from the 1994 Winter Olympics.
Those of you who are up to a scenic mountain hike can enjoy some of Lillehammer's picturesque national parks, such as Rondane, Jotunheimen and Langsua mountain.
