Vlasta Delimar’s “People of Rijeka, check if you are alive” is an anti-retrospective and a wake-up call. Spanning decades of work, the exhibition brings together performances and interventions that push the boundaries of body, sexuality, memory and public space — often uncomfortably so. From intimate provocations to her 1983 Korzo action, where she wrote directly into the city’s everyday flow, Delimar turns visibility into tension rather than spectacle. Coinciding with her 70th birthday, the show resists nostalgia and instead firmly places her work in the present, where questions of control, the body and public discourse feel anything but historical.
