Margot: Sentempa Mundo (Timeless World)

16 JUNE 2026 - 23 AUGUST 2026

Installed in the museum’s Black Box gallery, the exhibition brings together a series of large-scale drawings on paper created using ink and oil. These works reveal Margot’s highly personal visual language, developed through an intuitive and immersive artistic practice that began in 2014. Working in a process that resembles automatic drawing, she builds dense networks of rhythmic lines that gradually evolve into intricate structures and unexpected forms.
As viewers move closer to the drawings, hybrid figures emerge from the surface. Part human, part botanical, these visionary beings inhabit landscapes that seem simultaneously organic and cosmic. The compositions appear to grow naturally across the paper, creating entire worlds governed by their own mysterious logic. Rich in detail and movement, Margot’s works invite slow looking and reward repeated exploration.
Although she only began exhibiting her work little more than a decade ago, Margot has quickly gained international recognition. Her drawings have been shown in leading institutions and galleries dedicated to outsider and contemporary art, including Galerie Gugging in Austria, the College of Psychic Studies in London, Andrew Edlin Gallery in New York, and the Montanelli Museum in Prague. Her works are also held in important public collections such as the American Folk Art Museum in New York and the College of Psychic Studies in London. In addition, she received the Grand Prix at the International Raw Intuitive Triennial in Jagodina, Serbia.
Born in 1982, Margot lives and works in the rural French village of Diou. Her artistic practice extends beyond paper and includes works created on animal bones, pages from old notebooks, and found photographs. Across these diverse materials, she consistently develops a unique visual universe shaped by intuition, imagination, and a remarkable attention to detail.
Sentempa Mundo offers Croatian audiences a rare opportunity to encounter the work of an internationally acclaimed artist whose creations exist at the intersection of the personal, the visionary, and the universal. At the same time, the exhibition reflects the Museum of Contemporary Art’s ongoing commitment to researching and presenting significant figures from the contemporary outsider art scene, opening new perspectives on creativity beyond conventional artistic boundaries.
