This isn't your grandfather's Irish pub, or even yours. Or, strictly speaking, even really an Irish pub. However, it is one of the top places to party, drink, watch sports or even try your luck at bowling or billiards. The first time we showed up at Shamrock (for a birthday party) we knew none of this, and would've thought we'd made a mistake following directions if not for the giant glowing shamrocks and Irish flags reassuring us that this was the place.
The modern, multi-floor premises are packed with more TVs than you can count, and the younger eager staff somehow manages to keep track of everything, while keeping smiles on their faces. If you happen to be in town for an important Turkish Süper Lig match (as we unwittingly were when for the aforementioned birthday party, when an Istanbul derby was taking place between Galatasaray and Beşiktaş), you won't find a better atmosphere on the island - or an empty seat, so reservations are a must.
