The fountain is decorated with a statue of Hercules of larger-than-life size with a club in his right hand and situated on a stone pillar in the middle of the basin. The hero holds a chequered eagle in his left hand, a symbol of the town, protecting it from a seven-headed hydra. The author of the sculptural group placed his signature ”Mandík” on the hydra. The Hercules Fountain ranks among Mandík’s most accomplished works of art.
