Perched high above the river in the original fortifications of the city is Barbakán. Its medieval soul hasn’t been exorcised yet as young maidens in costumes scamper about with trays of golden beers and grilled meats under vaulted ceilings or out on the expansive summer terrace overlooking the valley.
