The Church of the Assumption was established in 1295 and together with the attached Franciscan Monastery, it is one of the oldest buildings in the city. Through all of the disasters during the Hussite Wars and Thirty Years War, the complex has essentially retained its original early Gothic appearance.

The Chapel of St Barbara is adorned with frescos dating back to around 1460. The Museum of Ecclesiastical Art inside the Franciscan monastery acquaints visitors with the world of Christianity.

Open April – October
