Jewish Museum

The starting point for an exploration of Prague's Jewish past and present. The Jewish Museum supervises seven sites in total: the Old Jewish Cemetery, the Ceremonial Hall, the Pinkas, Klausen, Maisel and Spanish Synagogues and the Robert Guttmann Gallery. There are a couple ticket options depending on which sites you’d like to visit. It isn’t cheap, but the tickets are good for seven days. Go early to avoid the crowds. The Museum is closed Saturdays and Jewish holidays. While most Jewish quarters in the region were destroyed in World War II, Prague got ‘lucky’ in that the main buildings and cemetery in the Jewish Quarter are still intact. Hitler had intended to transform the quarter into an epitaph to a vanished culture.
