Danube Delta

Razim & Sinoe Lakes

more than a year ago

Razim Sinoe is a protected area situated in the south of the Danube Delta and is formed by lakes, marine girders and some higher relief formations. There are three types of lakes: lagoon (such as Razim and Sinoie), firth (such as Badabag) and lakes between the girders (such as Chituc and Edighiolurile).

Following some hydro-technical works, the lagoon complex was transformed into two units: Razim and Sinoe. Razim Lake is the largest lagoon in Romania. In this place you can see a lot of species of birds and fish. On the other hand, Sinoe is the lake with the highest salt concentration of about 15 g/l.
