The place got its name after the most famous Danish writer, Hans Christian Andersen, who lived on the second floor of the building in the same building in which the café is located for 20 years now. The café has a lovely garden overlooking Nyhavn and it's great for a cup of coffee, especially in the morning while the city slowly wakes up.
