Garda Museum and Archives

The Records Tower, Dublin Castle, D2      (+353)(0)1 666 9998     more than a year ago
Located in the Record Tower since 1997, this museum covers policing pre and post-1922 when Ireland became a Republic. Photographs and documents reveal the history and development of policing in the 19th and 20th Centuries, and the archives can be used to trace long-lost relatives who served in An Garda Síochána which, as every Gaelic scholar will testify, is Irish for "The Guardians of the Peace".
