One of the most beautiful areas in our beautiful country, the lakes of Killarney are quite simply breathtaking. A gorgeous coastline, awe-inspiring mountains, ancient monuments, lakes, castles and estates make this a perfect piece of paradise to explore on foot, by bike, in a car, or perhaps even on a lake or river cruise. If you do decide on a car, be warned - you will be pulling over every two minutes to take pictures and to admire the scenery. Every view you ever imagined seeing in Ireland is on offer here, only better. This is Ireland at its finest and most spectacular. The one downside is that so many people know this, so it's best to visit outside the peak holiday season - but don't worry, you're as likely to get the good weather in April or September as you are in June, July or August.
