Tara's Palace and Childhood Museum

Prepare to be amazed at the intricate details that abound in this dolls house. Ron and Doreen McDonnell started Tara’s Palace in 1980 and took over a decade to complete this painstaking project. Miniature paintings are by leading Irish artists and the furniture is equally stunning. Among the accompanying display is a dolls house called ‘Portobello’ from around 1700 and another that was owned by Oscar Wilde’s mother. Antique toys and dolls, along with a few other houses, can also be admired. Admission prices go to supporting Children’s charities.
