A short walk south of the City Museum of Ljubljana and discovered during excavations in the early 1960s, the remains of this former home of a wealthy Roman family dates from the late 4th and early 5th centuries. Unmissable for anyone with even a passing interest in poking around archaeological sites, of particular interest are the remains of the intricate, dual-coloured floor mosaics and a better-than-average example of a preserved hypocaust under-floor heating system. The remains have been well arranged with special walking paths and bridges to give the best views and there’s of useful information in English.
