Royal Albert Dock

Liverpool’s history is intrinsically linked to its maritime presence, and the Royal Albert Dock is undoubtedly the classiest example of this. A complex of warehouses and dock buildings, this was the first non-combustible warehouse system in the world when it opened in 1846, although it will be the collection of museums, galleries, shops and cafes that will attract most attention to day. This is one of the most visit attractions in the entire country, a revolutionary piece of urban architecture that is every bit as beautiful as it was forward thinking back in the 19th century.
