Taxis in English city centres tend to be quite expensive, especially if you hail one off the street, so we fully advise using public transport when in Manchester. Booking a taxi ahead of time is also advisable if private transport is your only option. You’ll likely get a very chatty driver who has a few things to complain about but does so in a cheeky manner. Uber is also available in the city, if you’re into that sort of thing.
