Dedicated to the life of the matriarch of Estonian poetry, this branch of the Pärnu Museum is housed in the 1850s-era parish school where Koidula grew up and does a great job of preserving the feel of the era. Displays also pay tribute to her father, J. V. Jannsen, an equally important figure in the rise of Estonian national awareness. He founded the first Estonian newspaper, Perno Postimees, and edited it from here. In the backyard of the museum is an open-air pavilion with the atmosphere of Pärnu's first song festivals, and art and history exhibitions are held in the galleries of the beloved concert venue throughout the year.
