Just off Vabaduse Square, The Krypt is where Tallinn’s night creatures come out to play. Open Friday and Saturday nights only, this underground lair is home turf for rockers, metalheads, and punk fans who like their music loud and their vibe unpolished in the best way. Expect a rotating lineup of mostly local bands thrashing it out on stage, with the occasional surprise act or even a round of karaoke for those brave enough to grab the mic. The drinks are affordable, the crowd is friendly in that “we all survived the mosh pit together” sort of way, and the décor is delightfully spooky without trying too hard. If you like your weekends heavy on guitar riffs and light on pretension, The Krypt is your jam.
