Spanish Arch

2 The Long Walk     more than a year ago
Spanish because of all the Spanish wine shipped in during the Middle Ages, we are going to be honest - it’s not going to win any Instagram likes, but you’d do well to remember that useful is not always pretty. Regardless of its plainess, this stone arch withstood the tsunami triggered by the Great Lisbon Earthquake of 1755! That’s a pretty sweet part of a wall bastion to have in times of frequent naval city attacks, wouldn’t you agree? Even Columbus took time out of his conquests to stop here back in 1477 and inspire a strange public art monument.
