Gdynia - Tel Aviv

Apr 30 - Aug 31 2020       ul. Zawiszy Czarnego 1, Gdynia
Gdynia and Tel Aviv. Gates to the world. Both cities were founded almost from scratch, growing in the shadow of more powerful and older centres - Gdańsk and Jaffa respectively. For both, the impulse for development was the difficult geopolitical situation, the coastal location and the great expectations placed on them. Both Gdynia and Tel Aviv became cities of migrants, witnessing the transfer of people, goods and ideas through their ports. The tour of the photographic exhibition Gdynia - Tel Aviv takes an audience on a journey through these seaside cities raised on dunes, dominated by modernist architecture, a symbol of both countries' aspirations. The modernist architecture is the main focus of the exhibition, featuring the projects by the leading architects of White Gdynia and White Tel Aviv.
