Gdynia

Komar Paliwo i Spoiwo

A quiet little drinking and snack den named after the Polish for mosquito, tucked behind the Gdynia Infobox in the centre of town, where you can drink to your heart’s content in return for a fistful of change. The decor consists of a bunch of communist era newspapers used as wallpaper, some random 7 inch singles (one for the kids there) nailed to the walls and a motorbike suspended from the ceiling. Wonder why as you trip your way through a comprehensive range of shots and Nalewki, generally aged fruit-flavoured alcohol often found in Polish country basements. It’s very basic but strangely likeable not least because four of you could easily spend a night here for less than a taxi one way to Gdansk.
