Mimoza Gdynia

Antoniego Abrahama 26, Gdynia     more than a year ago
Mimoza really likes flowers and soft-pink velvety fabrics, a backdrop against which my cappuccino was served in a gold-lined cup-and-saucer with extra froth. It shouldn't come as a surprise that the demographics in this café seem to be either elderly ladies or young women who like to wear pearl-white turtle-necks! For some reason, I was expecting more than 3 cakes but that doesn't mean that my choice was bad: Quite the opposite! My slice of Oreo cake was exactly as you would want it to be - a perfect balance of chocolatey cookie-crumbs on thick white cream and a dense chocolate base.  I appreciated the fact that the cream was not excessively-sweet as you would expect to find in the original biscuit. They also have a small range of premade icecreams/sorbets in tall-glasses, which are no doubt thoroughly enjoyed with a long spoon! This heavenly establisment also has a liquor license, including some mini-prosecco bottles and a decent range of white wine, which means a late afternoon catch-up with old school friends is totally on the cards. Even if you don't enjoy the decór, Mimoza, the only café on Antoniego Abrahama's culture strip, is not a bad option at all!
