One of Germany’s leading galleries of modern art thanks to the donation of the collection of Dr Bernhard Sprengel in 1969, this bright and modern building features paintings, sculptures, photography and other media by Picasso, Ernst, Klee, Beckmann and Kurt Schwitters to name but a few. As well as the permanent exhibition, the Sprengel Museum also hosts a number of temporary shows. Well worth a visit.
