Best Breakfast & Brunch Spots in Gibraltar

more than a year ago
We’ve long believed that the Full English breakfast might well be the greatest culinary invention in the history of time and space, so early morning eaters in Gibraltar are in for all sorts of treat. Well, we say ‘treats’, what we mean is plates full of greasy fried food and large mugs of black coffee with which to wash it down. You could always have a pint with your breakfast, if you’re into that sort of thing.

The Gibraltar Arms

The name might conjure up images of another hardened old British boozer in Gibraltar, but the Gibraltar Arms is more of a working class cafe than anything else. The Full English is one of the best in town, a mighty plate of greasy meat and beans that will set you on your way for the rest of the day. Friendly service too!

The Ship

If you think all old British pubs couldn’t be stylish, you need to get yourself to The Ship pronto, tonto. Located in Gibraltar’s Ocean Village, you’ll be just at home drinking a glass of crisp wine as you would a cold pint, rocking up for a greasy fry-up or a romantic evening meal. A decent place to watch the football too.

Cork & Fork

Cork & Fork! We’re all for rhyming names, and Cork & Fork backs up its magnificent moniker with a fine selection of treats that require a cork or a fork. The menu is full of swift treats that are surprisingly filling, brunches that will tide you over until the inevitable trip to a steakhouse in the evening, and the wine menu is excellent. Keep an eye out for the daily specials.

Jury's Cafe & Wine Bar

Located next to the Gibraltar courts, Jury’s Cafe & Wine Bar is a fine place to celebrate that not guilty verdict. It is an excellent place to go whatever the reason, with a delightfully themed get-up and an excellent menu of breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The wine list is arguably the best in town, and the coffee and tea is consistently decent.

Sacarello's

You can’t argue with more than 120 years of quality. Established in 1888, Sacarello’s has long been a staple of the coffee scene in Gibraltar, a family-run cafe that is consistency personified for locals and a beacon of coffee magic for newcomers. Coffee is the main event at Sacarello’s but there are also plenty of quality wines available.
