Glasgow’s top 5 ‘sweet-tooth’ places

Glasgow is known for its various delicious restaurants that offer food from all around the world. However, it is not just the home of tasty savoury dishes, but also serves mouth-watering treats that will delight anyone with a knack for the sweet things in life. From the South Side to the City Centre and all the way to the West End, they are located all over the city. Here are a few of the best places for people with a ‘sweet-tooth’:

Loop & Scoop
Visiting the West End without stopping at Loop & Scoop is nearly impossible. Located on Great Western Road, this ice cream and churro shop is ideal for a quick break in between walks in the park and vintage shopping. It has a variety of different ice creams and churro options with vegan oversions available as well.

Tantrum Doughnuts
The doughnuts sold are not your ordinary doughnuts. Tantrum Doughnuts uses local free-range eggs and premium French butter to handcraft the brioche doughnuts from scratch. Its menu features a changing variety of unique doughnuts. The shop can be found in two locations, the City Centre and the West End.

Stack & Still
Stack and Still is located right in the heart of the city centre, which makes it ideal as a lunch or dinner place or as a quick snack in between visiting Glasgow’s sights. It is also ideal if you are travelling with someone that might be in the mood for something savoury, besides various sweet pancakes, it also offers savoury pancakes and sides. Customers are also able to create their own individual order by choosing everything from the dough and the number of pancakes to the topping. Vegan and gluten-free options are available.

Deesserts
From milkshakes and sundaes to waffles and hot and gooey cookie dough, Deesserts has a huge selection of mouth-watering treats. Whether you are craving something sweet after spending the day shopping in the city centre or you need a place to sit for a while after going out with friends, deesserts is the perfect place. Especially because it is situated right on the busy Sauchiehall Street. And the beautifully decorated deesserts are definitely Instagram worthy!

Cake Bar
The takeaway cake shop Cake Bar is the perfect place if you are looking to get some sweet take away and maybe sit in Kelvingrove Park. Managed by the three sisters Gillian, Nichola and Linsey, this place offers everything from morning muffins to cinnamon buns, ice cream, cake and a pick-and-mix bar and is truly a ‘techno-coloured dream’.
