Founded in Israel in 1996, over the past two decades the Max Brenner Chocolate Bar chain has spread across the globe, with the Australian franchise accounting for some two-thirds of its retail locations, including a half dozen in the Gold Coast. Chocolate aficionados will be overwhelmed with choices, from chocolate (and marshmallow) pizza and fondue towers to waffles and crepes. Most of the cutlery and dishes are specially made – like the Kangaroo cups for cappuccino – to bring out the most from the confections. Admitted coffee addicts can event take shots of melted chocolate ganache from a plastic syringe.
