It’s a long way to Havana, but much less to The Cuban, which draws on that island’s rich history and varied cultures to produce a dining experience that can make you wonder if you’re still on the Gold Coast, especially after a few mojitos. Cuban food takes much from that of Southern Spain, along with influences from Africa, the Caribbean and elsewhere in Latin America, and thus the dishes are both familiar and surprising. The menu boasts an extensive list of classics, many with tapas-style or banquet options, and it wouldn’t be Cuban place without cocktails, or fantastic coffee. We recommend ending the meal with a cup of café con leche and some churros.
