Formerly a subsidiary of the Singapore-based airline of the same name, since 2014 Tigerair has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Virgin Australia, and is the country's second biggest low-cost carrier after Jetstar. From Gold Coast Airport Tigerair currently only has direct flights to Sydney and Melbourne.
