The main town square in Gothenbourg is dedicated to Gustav II Adolf, the city's founder, and bears the name Gustaf Adolfs Torg.  All until 1854 the square was called Stortorget (the big square), bt the name was changed when the statue of Gustav II Adolf was erected.
