'Góra Gradowa' is a 46m hill just outside the former city walls of Gdańsk, up behind the present day train and bus stations, which played an important role in the defence of the city in centuries past. These days the remains of the fortifications are home to an exhibition on the 19th century fort that was built here and a science centre – the Hevelianum Centre. You’ll also find a huge cross which overlooks the city and can be seen from quite a distance away. As well as visiting the fortifications, it’s possibly the best place to take in the glorious view of the old city of Gdańsk.
