Islamic Art Museum

This recently opened annex of the Benaki Museum, housed in an elegant neoclassical building complex in the historic heart of Athens, near the ancient Kerameikos cemetery, displays a fine collection of Islamic art from the Near East, Middle East, Far East and North Africa, from the 12th to the 19th centuries. It presents the evolution of Islamic art in relation to the historic development of Islamic civilisation.
