The National Opera hosts classical and modern, opera and ballet/dance performances. Its current building is inadequate in terms of acoustics and spatial organisation by today’s standards. For many years now, there have been persistent calls to relocate the National Opera to a more suitable, permanent establishment, but no concrete plans have been announced as yet.
Performances are held at the Olympia Theatre (which includes the Children’s Stage), the Athens Concert Hall and the open-air Odeon of Herodes Atticus.
