You can reach the island on a ferry, and the most usual route for such a trip starts from Athens. Regular boat lines are starting from Piraeus port near the Greek capital. The time for travel ranges between six and ten hours. The one-way price for a car and two passengers might vary from 140 to 200 Euro. Chania port also operates boat tours to other Greek Islands like Santorini, Ios, Paros, or Rhodos. The port is located in Souda Bay, the same area as the airport.
