It's all about the pompous short guy at 'the emperor'; Napoleon is depicted on paintings around the bar, and can also be spotted as a bust overlooking proceedings from above and frowning at the annoyingly large advertising screen. There's Gulpener, Koninck and Edelweiss Weissbier, and peanuts for self-peeling therapy. Since its opening in 1993 it's been one of our favourite places to hang out in Groningen.
