If your fascinated by the sea and want to know more about shells and the molluscs that inhabit them, check out this entertaining little museum run by a lovely family in a separate part of their private home. Over 1500 kinds are on display, but the explanations are unfortunately only available in Dutch. Some of these creatures have already been on planet Earth for at least 540 million years. Besides being an important part of the ocean food chain, they're also a source of important luxury goods like pearls, dyes and sea silk. Learn all about their single muscular 'feet', rasping tongues and muscle-powered 'hairs'. Some of these tiny animals even change gender just to reproduce! They'd probably feel right at home on the east side of Paal 14 at the 'special' beach on the northern part of the island.
