Vredenhof

Reddingsweg, Schiermonnikoog     more than a year ago
To understand the mighty powers of the sea better, visit the cemetery Vredenhof. More than 100 bodies are buried here, lots of them killed or drowned at sea. Although the two World Wars are also responsible for many casualties. Before this graveyard started in 1920, most drowned bodies were buried in the dunes. The last washed up person that got his final resting-place in Vredenhof was in 1968.
