Hamburg has more bridges than Venice and Amsterdam combined due to its extensive canal system. The Trost Bridge symbolizes the oldest connection between the Episcopal Old City and the earl-led New City. Originally built in wood in the thirteenth century, it was rebuilt in 1881 to last.
