Like something out of a 1970s film the Grand Hotel Mussmann has escaped the ravages of the slick makeover and retains more charm than most hotels put together. Naturally the owners want you to know about the renovated rooms, which are very good indeed, but the best of the bunch are the brown rooms with their fabulous lamps and radios built into the beds. Right next to the Hauptbahnhof you’ll have a lot of trouble finding a better place and a nicer bunch of people.
