The original house that mathematician and scientist Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz resided from 1676-1716, was destroyed in 1943 and no longer exists. The present day house is a replica, constructed in the early 1980s. The house features a baroque facade and symbolises regional architectural styles of the period.
