Welfen Castle-University of Hanover Main Building

more than a year ago
This was the winter palace of King George V, after its completion in 1866. It was rebuilt 1875-1879 as the seat of the University. Characteristic Hanoverian pferde statue, or the Sachsenross on the front lawn, usually with students eating lunch near by. Marvelously lit up at night.
