Bangla Bufe

"I hope you didn't mind waiting" the waiter/chef said as he brought out our food on the last visit to Bangla Bufe. "Not at all. This is the best darn curry in Budapest." We actually said darn. But on reflection, it is. Best curry, best sauces - but the Bangla Bufe is not fancy. There's enough room for maybe 12 people to sit on low chairs and the décor, such as it is, consists of miniature garden tables on linoleum floors, with the occasional pot plant, clock, maybe calendar and photos of the menu on the walls. They play Bangladeshi pop tunes on YouTube Autoplay all day and night, and just because they're a walk-in place, don't expect fast service. But who cares, when the food is this good and so astonishingly cheap?
