A wonderful building from the early 19th century whose battered facade is now under repair. The lower floors contain the Párisi udvar (Parisien Court) shopping arcade which is instantly recognisable from the 2011 film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy as the place where Jim Prideaux is gunned down while trying to make contact with a general who supposedly wishes to defect from Communist Hungary in 1973. You'll find the main entrance at the corner of Petőfi Sándor and Kossuth Lajos streets, though this maybe locked. If so head along the building on the Kossuth Lajos side where you will find another entrance very loosely guarded by two security guards. Do as we did and wander nonchalently past them as they read their newspapers and admire the wonderfully atmospheric setting.
