They don't make them like this anymore. No website, no Facebook page, barely an email address. A neighbourhood place that has been quietly humming away for decades. It's handy to the much flasher New York Palota but in its quiet way, this pleasant little café and cukrászda (cake shop) is much more evocative of a lost world than the brassily rebooted New York Café. Much cheaper too at that. The coffee is strong and the cakes are rich, what more could you want?
