The 'City of the Tribes' is a bustling and immensely fun place buzzing with a great atmosphere made possible by a large population of cosmopolitan artists and fun-loving creative types. Great pubs, lovely restaurants and a vibe all its own, it also serves as a handy base for those looking to explore Connemara, the Aran Islands or Achill. There's always something going on in town though, so even if you never leave the city walls, you won't be left twiddling your thumbs, unless of course you're twiddling along to one of the many great traditional music gigs that spring up here, there and everywhere.
