Nestled snugly behind The Screen cinema and not too far from the office of the Irish Times, Mulligans is a deservedly popular, old-fashioned pub. Stubbornly unchanged in its decades of existence, the bar is a popular haunt for writers and journalists, locals, and administrative centre drones who have put their hours in at one of the dozens of offices nearby. It gets a little crowded for comfort sometimes, so try to get a seat early in the evening. The absence of music is more than made up for by the buzz of chatter, and they serve one of the best pints of Guinness in town.
